About Me

Full Agent Bio
Like many Longboat Key residents, Marta Altizer began life in the great white north. Marta was born in Charlevoix Michigan and grew up in the resort town of Saugatuck, MI. While in Michigan; Marta pursued her love of art and design, earning her BA from Hope College in Liberal Art, and her MA and MFA from Western Michigan University in Art. Marta’s career and experiences in art and design included positions as Museum Education Curator for the Holland (Netherlands) Historical Trust, Curator of Edison College, and completing Archeological Field Work for the Austrian Government. Marta also taught Design, Art History, Humanities, and Studio Art at college level, as well as conducting study tours throughout Europe.
Marta came to Siesta Key in 1993, while on a short sabbatical from a museum position. She loved the area so much she decided to make Sarasota her home. Seeing an opportunity to put her design skills to work, Marta earned her Real Estate License in 1998. For the past 15 years she has applied her exceptional design background to several of her own projects, which include remodeling and new construction projects on Longboat Key. Marta has also put these skills to work for her customers, whether finding that architectural masterpiece for the purchase of a dream home, or highlighting the superior design and function of a selling customer’s home. Additionally, Marta has developed strong business connections in the building and design industry, connections she makes available for her customers.
As a member of the Longboat Key community for over 13 years, Marta has established strong ties not only in the town of Longboat Key, but also in neighboring Anna Maria where she, her husband Craig and son Nicolaas are active members of Roser Memorial Church. Marta is active in her community as an officer of the Sleepy Lagoon Homeowners Association, and a regular volunteer at Anna Maria Elementary School.
Above all, Marta’s greatest gift is finding the perfect home for her customers. With a high level of professionalism, integrity, and extensive knowledge of the Longboat Key market, she ensures a smooth and successful experience for homebuyers and sellers alike. Marta takes great pride in knowing that she does everything possible to help her customers’ achieve their goals.

Testimonials
On April 26 we closed on the purchase of our new home. I was represented by Marta Altizer. Marta worked very hard to help me to successfully purchase the house, but more importantly, she helped me in every way possible to solve the inevitable problems which arise. I am convinced that Marta only offers advice when she knows what she is talking about. The selling agents were also very helpful in working out several issues after the sale. I could not have asked for more help.
